Accurate Clock
The most accurate clock made ever.
Overview
A joke clock app that tells the time very approximately. Built for the niche audience that thinks precision is overrated. Instead of giving you something as boring as 14:37:12, Accurate Clock might tell you it’s “about half two” or “somewhere in the afternoon”.
Problem
Modern clocks are too accurate.
They aggressively confront users with exactness, forcing unnecessary awareness of passing seconds and creating avoidable stress. Sometimes you do not need to know the time down to the millisecond. Sometimes “roughly now” is enough.
Solution
Accurate Clock intentionally reduces temporal precision.
It takes the current time and presents it with varying levels of approximation, from “around 3 PM” to “late evening”, depending on mood and configuration. The result is a calmer, less demanding relationship with timekeeping, while still being technically correct enough.
Developer Notes
This started as a joke project and remained one by design.
The implementation prioritises deliberate inaccuracy, predictable vagueness, and an unnecessarily serious treatment of an unserious idea. Any bugs causing more accuracy than intended should be treated as defects.
